Rest & Relaxation on Vancouver Island

Julie had booked the week off work to spend some time with us. We picked her up in Vancouver and she took us to visit her Aunt and Uncle on the east coast of Vancouver Island.  They’ve recently finished building their dream home which was built to PassivHaus standards, so it was a real treat for me to check it out and ask lots of questions.  They also had a cute little guest cabin out the back which they let us stay in.  The cabin was bare timber with mid century furniture, and an outdoor shower and toilet… pretty much our dream home.

We had initially planned to spend a couple of days there and then explore the island’s west coast for a few days, but we had such a great time at Miracle Beach, and our hosts were so hospitable that we couldn’t bring ourselves to leave, so we ended up staying put for the week.

We saw loads of cool stuff as we wandered along the beach at low tide.

It was really great to stay in one place for a few days and get some rest and relaxation.   And we couldn’t imagine a better place for it.

I am obsessed with Frodo’s life jacket. Nautical dog safety is often overlooked.

Haha Margot … why am I not surprised!!
Island times were awesome and julie’s aunt and uncle are the best! You have to visit them (and frodo) while you’re in school. It’s exciting that the island will be your home for the next few years. Mark and I nearly moved there :)
